Quō vādis…?

“Where are you going?”

“Whither goest thou?”

Education is supposed to train students to get to where we want to go — not only vocationally, but also spiritually.

If you have considered standard higher education before and concluded it was not for you either
because of financial constraints,
or because writing papers isn’t your strength,
or because of the duties and obligations of Life,
or because ‘classroom’ settings are not your “cup of tea”…

… What if all three of these considerations were not obstacles?

“I believe that many who find that ‘nothing happens’ when they sit down…to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a tough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.”

C.S. Lewis, “Introduction to Athanasius’s On the Incarnation“

An ‘Imaginative’ Way
of Learning

For centuries, education took place in open-air learning environments and within the supernal beauty of church buildings, incorporating GOD’s Creation and Sacred Art & Architecture with what was being taught, read, & prayed.

Would you consider a degree programme that uses this classic dual-setting, along with a focus on the ‘research degree’ model (a/k/a the ‘Ox-bridge model’), so that the strengths of each reader’s abilities and interests are maximized to their full potential?

  • ‘Junior readers’ have a blend of seminar-style formation and limited ‘research degree’ aspects.
  • ‘Senior readers’ are given the full freedom to learn at their own pace within the ‘research degree’ context, with optional lectures or seminars.

When it comes to cost, CORBENIC strives to provide courses at the most affordable we can make them:

  • B.ThA — $20/month per course; $80/month for a full term-slate.
  • MA’s — $60/month per course; $175/month for a full term.

In the meantime, please follow our official Substack — you will learn about many of the core principles and essential characteristics that CORBENIC uses in honing BIBLE-reading & meditation skills and developing a SPIRIT-inspired & WORD-faithful Imagination: all towards forming Chivalric-ethics as part of a lived-out Christian life. Not only in preparation for the New Creation, but as Tolkien wrote: “to actually assist in the effoliation and multiple enrichment of [that New] creation.”

Corbenic Bible College as an academic institution is a significant extended ministry founded and operated by Christ the King Church, whose primary parish is located in Easton ME. Corbenic-BC is focused on preparing Christian men and women for serving their family and fellow Christians, to their fullest leadership and vocational capacity, within their home & church community, by way of our deeply-rooted confessing Lutheran & Anglican degree programs, as we seek to apply the ‘Great Commission’ of Christ {Matthew 28}. Within this specific context, Corbenic-BC is approved by the State of Maine legislature to confer degrees. “Pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 20-A, section 10708, subsection 4, this institution is not required to obtain authorization from either the State Board of Education or the Maine State Legislature in order to: (1) use the name ‘junior college,’ ‘college,’ or ‘university,’ (2) offer courses or programs for academic credit, or (3) confer degrees.”
